To accurately track the success of your workflows and monitor how Lead Forensics performs, the integration needs to leave a footprint on the Account and Lead objects that we match against. This field can then serve as the foundation for reports created in Salesforce to track integration activity. To achieve this, a new checkbox field will need to be created by your CRM admin or a user with admin permissions.
To do this, navigate to set up > Objects and Fields > Object Manager.
First, we will create the field for the Lead object. Navigate to Lead in the below list and select fields and relationships and create new.
The data type we require is a checkbox, select this and click next.
Enter Lead Forensics Matched in the field label. Ensure to use capital L, F, and M in the field label entry
The default should remain unchecked
Lead_Forensics_Matched should auto populate into the field name.
Enter a brief description of the field we are creating, this is optional. Once all details have been entered, click next.
Select which profiles have access to this new field, we recommend keeping all profiles visible.
Finally, determine if the field will be added to your page layout and then click save & New to create the field and return fields & relationships screen.
Now, we need to complete the same process on the Account object.
Return to the object list and access the account object screen.
Click Fields & Relationships and click new.
Follow the same process as before.
The data type is checkbox.. Field label is Lead Forensics Matched.. and add a brief description..
Determine which profiles the field will be visible for. Add to the page layout and click Save..
By completing these steps, you equip your organization with the tools to identify and track engagement from known records directly within your system, enabling more targeted reporting and actionable insights. To maximize this value, we highly recommend building custom workflows tailored to your team's needs, so you can automatically surface opportunities and react to key website activity.
