The Statistics Overview Report is a powerful tool designed to give you a comprehensive understanding of your website's traffic. This report empowers you to analyse and interpret the visitors to your site, thereby unveiling insights into your site’s performance and user behaviour.
You can see the data in a variety of ways. You have the option to view the data on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis, with the default setting being monthly.
Next, you can select the number of results you wish to review. By default, 12 results are shown, representing the last 12 months of data. To change this, use the dropdown menu to choose from preset options, or select 'custom' and enter the desired number of results. Alternatively, you can use the date range picker to specify the start and end dates for the data you need. Once you've defined your criteria, click "view" to generate the report.
Below is the table representing the data within your portal. The table presents information in an organized manner, making it easy to interpret. Each row corresponds to a specific timeframe, whether monthly, weekly, or daily, depending on your selection. Columns include metrics such as the number of visits, direct visits (these are visits to your site that did not use a search engine, social media channel or external website link), visits via external website links, search engine or social media visits, unique visitors, page views (represented by PVs), and average page views (calculated by dividing page views by the visits). This comprehensive layout allows you to quickly understand your website's performance. Totals for each metric are provided at the bottom of the table to summarize the overall activity.
Accompanying the table is a graph that offers a visual representation of the data. The X-axis represents the chosen timeframe, while the Y-axis displays the number of visits, unique visitors, and page views. You can customize the graph by adding or removing specific metrics such as direct, external links, search, and average page views.
You can export the data to Excel or PDF format for external use, or you can email the data to yourself or other recipients.
You can access the data on external links by navigating to Reports > External Links. For search results, go to Reports > Referring Sites, which provides a breakdown of the different search and social media channels used. To view details on page views, navigate to Reports > Pages, where you have options such as Exit Pages, Landing Pages, or Popular Pages.
