Key Pages tracking, formally conversion tracking, in Lead Forensics is an invaluable tool that allows you to highlight visits to particular pages or sections of your website, making it easy to spot critical touch points in your visitors' online journey.
To setup key page tracking, enter a descriptive name, something that clearly identifies the page or pages you're wanting to highlight. For this example, we will create a key page for our pricing page
Then, define how this key page will be matched. There are three options.
- Exact match, this allows you to match to a specific URL and is ideal for tracking visits to specific pages, like a dedicated landing page.
- Starts with, which allows you to track visits to all the pages in a subsection of your website by matching to the first part of the URL.
- And 'Contains', which allows you to track any page on your site which has the specified text in its URL.
Once you've defined the matching criteria choose an icon that will represent the Key Page in the visitor list. You can use one of the built-in icons or upload one of your own.
After selecting your icon, create your key page by clicking 'create conversion' and Lead Forensics will begin generating the Key Page across your visitor data, not just for future visits but also by backdating it to include all past visits that match your criteria.
Please note, the backdating process may take a few hours to complete.
The table at the bottom of the page shows all the key pages which have been set up in the system and from here you can edit, delete or disable them.
Key pages can be shown visually in the visitor list by adding the key pages column to the view.
This displays the icon for each key page against the visits that had a matching page.
They can also be used to filter the visitor list, so you can see all visits which match a particular key page at a glance. This means you can quickly pinpoint when visitors engage with content, helping you to prioritize follow-up actions, tailor your marketing efforts, and drive more success.
