You can upload data files such as lists of existing customers or campaigns allowing us to automatically assign relevant business databases such as existing customer to differentiate them in your visitor list and reports
Let's walk through the process to upload a business
First give your list a name that is relevant to the content that is being uploaded.
Next, we need to define the date range for which the actions you set will apply. The options are:
- All visits - This will apply actions to all past present and future visitors
- Visits after a specified date - The actions will only affect visits after the date specified
- Visits before a specified date - The actions will only take effect up until the date defined
- Visits between a specified date range - The actions will only be applied to the visits within the selected date range
Once we have selected the period that the actions should take effect, we will need to choose the file to be uploaded, the file formats we support are CSV XLS XLSX
As a minimum, we require a company name to match. However, Company website and/or company email address are the best matching criteria. Please note we only use the domain of the email for matching purposes.
Select the file you want to import and choose if your file contains header rows and choose which sheet you want to process.
The column mapping should automatically identify if you have header rows applied. The fields we map are:
- Company Name
- Website
- Phone Number
- Town
- Country
Check the columns of data in your file matches to the Lead Forensics columns, you can manually select which column you want to map by using the drop down in the relevant section.
Once the mapping is complete, we will need to choose the actions you want to apply to the businesses from your list. You may select multiple actions per list.
The options are:
- Apply a Business Status – You can either assign statuses based on a column in the import or assign a single status to all records in your file. For this example, I am going to assign a status based on a column called Status
- Assign User – Similarly, you can assign users based on a column in your import or assign all businesses to a single user. Like the Business Status, I am going to assign users based on the column assignee.
- Apply a Category – only a single category may be applied to all businesses in your import. For this example, I am going to apply the category Campaign January 2025.
Once you have defined your actions, click import. A summary of your import will pop up for you to check all sections are correct before uploading your data into your portal.
To view uploaded files, go to setup > Data Manager > Manage Data. Here you can access all uploaded files along with actions and matches.
Remember, Lead Forensics is ISO27001 accredited, we do not share your data with third parties or use it to build any databases.
